At The Work Well we want to provide more than a professional, productive workspace for our members. We take a high priority in providing resources to ensure the overall wellness of our members is met as well. We are all well versed on the benefits of exercise, but amidst a pandemic, those benefits become essential. Measures taken to reduce the spread of COVID-19 are causing changes in everyday schedules and disrupting workout routines across the nation and many Americans have simply given up under the pressure. However, now more than ever, it is essential that we get moving and take care of our health.
Why Exercise?
Exercise is especially important now because it can reduce the stress and anxiety of a pandemic—the stress of social isolation and life disruptions. It promotes sleep and maybe best of all boosts the immune system.
No Gym, No Problem
So you can’t go to your gym, or you just aren’t comfortable? No problem! Exercise is not restricted to a CrossFit box or a cycling studio. All you need are a good pair of shoes and you can walk, run, or play ball with the family. Get outside for some vitamin D and enjoy nature while you’re at it! The Work Well is located steps away from the Wortham Park & Trail and many residential neighborhoods that are ready for walking, running, biking or jogging. Throughout the year, The Work Well partners with fitness brands such as VillaSport Athletic Club and Shaka Power Yoga for free introductory classes. If you’re not ready to commit to a full gym membership, this is a great way to dip your toe in and test the waters. Lastly, if you happen to push yourself a little too hard while working out, our member, Tifany Teague with Escape The Pain can help! From sharp to dull to throbbing pain Tifany’s AtlasPROfilax treatment will reduce or eliminate your pain and have you back on the exercise train in no time!
Get Moving!
Although it might be tempting to skip your workout and drown your sorrows in a bowl of ice cream, public health officials say that exercise is essential to your health and well-being during this pandemic, so tackle some calorie-burning chores, or challenge the family to a soccer match.
More Health Tips
In tandem with exercising, here are some tips and practices to keep you at your healthiest and help boost your immune system. Stay hydrated, get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night, and don’t forget to take your vitamins – it’s essential!
